We are VERY excited to be going to California this June with our oldest granddaughter, Cricket!!! San Diego Zoo, Laguna Beach, and Disneyland. Wonder who will come home ready for a vacation? We couldn't be happier to start what we hope will be a tradition for the next 10 or 12 (and if some nameless children will hurry up with the procreating) or more years!! Asha is next...then Tilly.... won't be long Indie.

This memorial day, Grandpa and Grandma DeWitt remember Ryan. Settlers will never be quite as much fun as when playing with Ryan - anytime a 7 was rolled- "Oh good, now you can curse Deanne and pay her back"....as only Ryan could say it with a big cheesey grin.

Our visit to St. George was fun.... fun... FUN!! Deanne got to Easter Egg Hunt - I beat JP at golf - and we both got to watch some exciting soccer action with Tilly and Cricket tearing up the pitch! Tilly scored a GOAL!!

When I was younger..... I used to laugh at the old people. You know the ones. Their kids all grow up and move away....so the "adopt" a dog and it becomes their "baby". Or they start doing bizzare things to show their grandkids. Little did I know I would become one of them? When did that happen? Did I go to sleep one night, and an alien seed pod replicated me into an old man? What was their mission in all this........

Oh well....besides the realization of my own mortality and age degredation...... getting old is not all that bad. I DO have control of the remote (Kip hasn't yet figured out how to control the TV) and I've finally heard the most beautiful sound in the entire world........

.......... the sound of one of my grandchildren yelling out "GRANDPA GRANDPA GRANDPA" when they first see me!!!

I guess it's a fair trade-off. So thanks alien seed pods.
